Antique Bakery (Mini Drabbles)

Lately I've been watching Antique Bakery.
It's an anime based on an award winning BL (shounen-ai) manga.

Truth is, it's 100% not my type or my taste, but...

For starters, great music.
Low point; utterly cheesy, embarrassingly gay (not in the homo way, in the "are you serious ROFLMAO" way)
However that's also it's high point.


Now despite it being utterly corny at times...what I mean by it being both a high and low point is that it's so embarrassing, you can't bare to watch----but can't help but watch.
Antique is terribly honest in nature as well, because gay couples aren't 12 year old shotas and juicy 16 year old teen boys. The former is not ultra girly and the latter is not always cool and/or hot---so for going away from mainstream, the characters: Ono, Tachibana, Kanda and Chikage are extremely likable---human--- characters.

My personal favorite happens to be Chikage. Failure at everything except pure, raw, emotional, moral!
I don't know if any man in real life could possibly be so pure-hearted, but Chikage is certainly sparkling clean.

My strongest reason for watching Antique Bakery would be that each episode not only calms me down, but puts a giant smile on my face. I can't help but grin when I'm watching certain scenes.
(if not, I'm cringing at the rain-dancing thing *head explode*)

For a not-so harsh-rating-than-usual... rating of 4/5 stars.
